Yuma, AZ -- The Yuma Fire Department responded to a fire in a snake habitat.

The fire started in a large snake habitat where a four-foot long ball python died.  The fire started at 1:30pm on Sunday.  A passerby saw water coming from the building.  When the Yuma Fire Department arrived, they found that a fire in a snake habitat had been extinguished by the building's fire suppression sprinkler system.

Firefighters arrived, ensured the fire was extinguished, and shut down the water flow.

The fire sprinklers extinguished the fire and kept it from spreading outside the habitat.  No people were injured.
