Indianapolis Fire Deaths are at an All Time High

fire protection contractor IndianaIndianapolis, IN -- Fire deaths in Indianapolis are at a three-year high.  It has also been discovered that over half of the fire deaths were adults over 30 years old.

In 2013, Indianapolis had 10 fire-related deaths, and in 2012, Indianapolis had 5 fire-related deaths.  In 2014, Indianapolis has already had 17 fire-related deaths.

Indianapolis Fire Department Captain Rita Reith said, "We're always talking to kids about fire prevention, but we forget we need to remind the adults too."

Statistics show that the fire deaths in Indianapolis are happening because of the following reasons:

  • Inadequate fire protection systems
  • Smoking in bed
  • Unatteneded cooking
