Fire Sprinklers Extinguish Atomic Lab Fire

Pittsburgh, PA -- A fire at an atomic power lab in Pittsburgh was extinguished without incident by the lab's fire sprinklers.

The fire sprinklers extinguished the fire without injury or damage.  Officials reported there is no threat to the public from the fire that ignited on Sunday night.

The facility is government-owned and operated by the Department of Energy and the U.S. Navy.  The government develops technology that powers U.S. nuclear warships.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
