FDNY Firefighter Rescues Baby from Brooklyn Apartment Fire

Brooklyn, NY -- A fire ignited in a Brooklyn apartment, quickly becoming a raging inferno.  A firefighter was able to rescue a nine month old boy trapped inside.

Firefighter Ryan Wischerth of Engine 283 rescued the boy from the three-story building.  The baby was concious as he was taken from the smoke-filled second-story apartment.  The hospital listed the boy in serious, but stable condition.

Four other adults were taken to the hospital as well.  Their relationship to the baby was not revealed.
