Chicago, IL -- A firefighter was injured when he reported to the Chicago White Sox's U.S. Cellular Field, a few hours before the home opener.

Fire crews were called to the stadium at 2:30am on Friday when fire sprinklers activated in a first-floor storage room.  By 3am, the fire was contained by the fire sprinklers.  One firefighter needed to be transferred to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Chicago White Sox's VP of Community Relations, Christine O'Reilly.

"We're ready to open and ready for a ballgame today," said O'Reilly.
