Fire at Six Flags Causes $60k in Damages

A fire at the Six Flags Amusement Park in Gurnee, IL has caused $60k in damages.
The fire erupted at 9pm in a wooden employee break area, near an equipment shelter. Firefighters received the call at 9:05pm and arrived on the scene by 9:10pm. During off season, the firefighters run drills of how to fight a fire in the park, so they were prepared. They were able to quickly contain the fire. It took two hours to extinguish it completely.
The damage included the equipment shelter, which was a complete loss. All equipment in the structure also was lost.
The park is still set to open next month.
There were minimal staff on schedule and no one was injured.
