Chicago at Post-recession high

Chicago, IL -- Yesterday, Chicago broke ground on One Bennett Park.  This marked the 48th tower crane to operate in Chicago this year.  It also represents record breaking construction in Chicago.

There are dozens of other high-rises in the works throughout Chicago.  According to the office of Rahm Emanuel, One Bennett Park marks the record for post-recession cranes operating in Chicago at one time.

Chicago is also hitting record numbers on building permits.  They are at a 5-year high.  At the end of October, Chicago was close to 40,000 building permits.

Mayor Emanual said, "As Chicago's economy continues to gain strength, City Hall will continue to partner with all businesses, big and small, to keep the progress going."
